TSO Green’s Agrivoltaic System is an advanced, lightweight, and highly efficient solution designed to optimize solar energy production while improving crop growth in agrivoltaic environments. At the core of TSO Green’s system is a durable aluminum Havecon frame engineered to lift above the crops, ensuring farmers can continue to operate their fields with minimal disruption. The elevated structure creates space for equipment use and worker access while supporting long-term crop growth beneath.
The frame is paired with a corrugated polycarbonate roof that shields plants from hail and direct rainfall while still allowing natural light to pass through. An integrated rainwater management system directs water to targeted locations, helping farmers capture and redistribute rainfall where it is most beneficial. This lifted frame design is not only functional but also multipurpose, serving as a mounting point for irrigation, misters, or fans, giving farmers additional flexibility to create optimized growing and working conditions beneath the agrivoltaics.
Built from anodized aluminum alloy 6061, the frame combines strength and lightweight efficiency, weighing under 3 lbs per square foot. It is designed for stability and longevity, capable of spanning wide areas while maintaining structural integrity. The rigid design minimizes deflection under load and supports precision components such as the solar blade rotation system, ensuring reliability in the field.
The Shade Management System features 16 bypass diodes strategically placed using proprietary technology, a design that reduces labor costs during manufacturing, something previously unattainable due to labor-intensive processes. This system allows solar blades to be deployed effectively even under variable shading conditions, ensuring crops receive ideal light levels while maintaining high energy output.
The system is bifacial and uses high-efficiency solar cells with up to 32 percent efficiency, minimizing area waste and maximizing energy production. The mounting system is compatible with Single-Axis Tracking, and the water-resistant drive system enables precise 0 to 360 degree rotation of the solar blades. By adjusting angles relative to the sun, the system optimizes light exposure for crops while producing bifacial solar energy, enhancing both agricultural productivity and energy generation.
