Precision Management
Inside TSO’s Precision Shade Management System
For the successful integration of the TSO Solar Blades and TSO HF-STMs, they must be programmable for precise and autonomous shade management. Our software is designed with this in mind.
With more than 1,000 STMs spanning over 1 acre of land or greenhouse, manual control would be insurmountable and too burdensome to deliver the required return on investment.
Utilizing TSO’s Shade Management software brings control to a new level, allowing users to input specific settings into our user interface for each desired circumstance. One example of this is setting the software to a precise Daily Light Integral (DLI) for each target zone in the greenhouse, tailored to each specific plant species.
We collaborated with Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) to verify proprietary algorithms using ray-tracing simulations.
The software provides on-site controllers and drive motors in the TSO HF-STM with real-time instructions to manage sunlight delivered to the crops, using cutting-edge weather and sunlight forecasting.
Precise sunlight and weather forecasting, up to 72 hours in advance, allows highly predictable sunlight management throughout the crop’s life cycle.
Scalable to an unlimited number of greenhouses, in limitless locations globally, the software can customize greenhouses for size, geographic locations, crop growing zones, and crop types.
The software includes override settings to meet customer objectives, including maximizing power production, shade, and sunlight for non-growing areas.
It can precisely manage sunlight delivered to crop zones at any height within the greenhouse. This creates optimized plant growth for canopy plants in the upper greenhouse, potted plants at table height, and floor-level plants at floor height.
Cloud-based architecture through Amazon Web Services (AWS) ensures optimization for performance, security, scalability, and reliability.
TSO software offers ultimate modularity for maintenance and upgrades.
Services can be independently maintained and updated with zero downtime.
Hardware can be automatically swapped for newer versions to meet higher demands, with zero downtime and without the need to reconfigure the core software.
